This pillow was pretty simple. It was made with a beautiful cut velvet fabric I purchased from Joann’s Red Tag fabric when they were 50% off. I love looking there for fabric I wouldn’t normally buy.
I used my Side Tie Pillow Tutorial– but instead of making the ties with the fabric, I used a 1″ wide satin ribbon.
I think this would make a gorgeous ring pillow for a wedding. Only not so big. 😉
Slowly making my way through the pillows. I’m pretty happy with them so far. 🙂 Since I know you are all so amazing and have terrific advice- I have need of opinions. See that lovely Polka dot fabric? The one from This pillow? I am wondering if I need to embellish it for my couch? Add piping? trim? fancy ruffles on the border? Or just leave it simple and let the fabric do the talking? All the other pillows have some texture and interest, so I’m wondering if leaving it simple would make it stand out- for good or bad?
Help.
XOXO,
Amy

July 29, 2011 at 4:51 pmAnother darling creation!! The velvet looks so yummy, wish I could lay my little head down…
As for the polka dot fabric, I think it's already gorgeous fabric, so you probably don't need a whole lot of embellishment, Maybe piping or a simple ruffle? I'm not the expert though, you're the pillow queen!!

July 29, 2011 at 8:15 pmAnother adorable pillow! I am not sure about the polka dot fabric. If the rest of them are going to be embellished maybe you let the fabric be on this one but I have only made one pillow and you know which one that it 🙂

July 29, 2011 at 10:05 pmWith the polka dot, I think using texture would be fun. A while back a made a pillow with ruched side gussets. You can see it here. It's a nice way to add interest, and still showcase the main fabric.

July 29, 2011 at 10:59 pmLove pillow #2! It's such a different look from your original gray felt side tie pillow. I'd probably go with piping for the polka dot pillow. There's already a lot going on on the fabric itself.

July 29, 2011 at 11:38 pmYou still hold the crown for pillow queen. I love this one with the ribbon ties. I'm with Gwen on the polka dot pillow, I like the piping idea.
