banners celebrations felt give away happy birthday

Let’s Celebrate!

So, I’ve been meaning to do this post for a couple of days, but every time I log on, I get distracted by the posts on my dashboard (other people’s posts!) and run out of time. Hmmm…sounds like I need to get some discipline. 😉
Anyway.
I hit 100 followers this past weekend! Yay! (thanks Jenna for being #100) And to celebrate I thought a give away would be in order.
If you are the fancy schmancy super mom who creates themed birthday parties with dessert tables and amazing favors for each child’s birthday/ each year, you can probably just move on- or skip to the give away part! j/k- even if you’re supermom, I still love you!
Here at our house, we don’t do parties every year. My kids get 4 birthday parties with friends and themes and stuff. They get their 1st birthday, 8, 12 and 16th birthday parties. (we haven’t gotten to the 12 or 16 yet- we’ll be on our 2nd 8th party this year!)
But I still wanted to make the kids feel special and important on their big day, so in comes the Happy Birthday Banner!

I love how it instantly makes it look like a party! It’s so colorful, and since it’s made of felt, it will last forever!

I store mine in a shoebox with other party supplies. Things like balloons, this table runner and candles. I also try to have cupcake liners (generic birthday or colorful ones) and streamers if they’re on sale.
I also made some cupcake stands using wood candlesticks and rounds (both purchased at Hobby Lobby)

For my daughter’s birthday I didn’t have many balloons, so I made paper accordion medallions and glued Happy birthday sentiments to the center.

Then, for each child’s birthday, I take some of my jars and fill them with that child’s favorite treats. My 2-year old just had her birthday, so we used fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, marshmallows and pretzels. The treats in the picture are kit kats and vanilla tootsie rolls. They add color to the decorations and make the kids so happy!

Each of our children feel like the decorations are just for them, but I don’t have to re-invent the wheel every time! I love it! (and my budget loves it too!)
So, as a thank you to everyone who reads this blog- I’m giving away one felt Happy Birthday banner! (It will probably come with a few other goodies too!)
All you have to do is leave a comment! (you don’t even have to be a follower)
All I ask is that there is some way for me to contact you in the comment (either linked through your account, or written in). If I can’t contact you, I will draw another winner.
*the banner won’t be the exact one you see in the pictures, but the coloring and over-all appearance will be the same*
Good Luck!
(the contest will be open until January 18th– that’s one week from now!)
A close up of the cupcake embellishment- it’s my favorite part.
xoxo,
Amy

Hey I really like your blog. Love this banner too! I would love to win, but you should do a tutorial on it or something. I was wondering how you cut out the letters. They look perfect. Are the letters felt? Keep up the great blogging! You are fabulous! Thanks, ~Andi
